July 20th, 2009 by doylecw in Teacher · No Comments
Here I am at Tech Camp with other teachers/librarians. I am spending the week beefing up my tech skills before school starts and I am overwhelmed. I want myself and my teachers to have more opportunities to use technology to make life easier and more green. Let’s hope I can pull this off…
Family Reading Night
October 21st, 2008 by doylecw in Uncategorized · No Comments

On Monday, October 15, 2008, our library held its inaugural Family Reading Night. Our students were invited to bring their families to the library to peruse new additions to our library collection and ask questions about our library program. We had a great time as we shared stories and cookies with the parents and the younger siblings of our students. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to open up our library to the wider White Station community.

I have spent the day re-discovering the possibilities of Discovery Learning! It has so much to offer each discipline in media and images. Many sites come with black-line masters and teacher tools. Check it out on the Teaching and Learning Academy home page! (it is still the United Streaming icon on the right side!) Check with one of the librarians if you have not set up your account!

Cathy
My name is Cathy Doyle. I have been teaching with Memphis City Schools for 30 years! How time flies! I have been at White Station High School in the Library for two years. I work with two other librarians and we are always busy. I completed my undergraduate and graduate work at University of Memphis.
- I have a yellow labrador named Khaki
- I have two grown sons (both graduated from White Station High School!)
- My father taught at White Station in 1958-1960-that is why I moved to Memphis!
I hope to become a more proficient blogger in the future! Please keep checking.
Nikki
My name is Nikki Jones-Wallace. I have been a teacher for fifteen years. This is my eighth year at White Station and my third year as a librarian. I actually taught Cathy’s younger son when I was a tenth grade English teacher! I have a wonderful family consisting of my husband, my two children, a dog and a new stray kitten. I am a former Spartan, and I love reading and research, so the White Station library is the perfect place for a bookworm like me.
